ギャラリー・クラブ『THE deep』のオーナー、そして『rockin’on』等のアートディレクションを手掛けるなど、カルチャーの世界で広く名の知られるパリ在住のアーティスト・アートディレクター、大類信/mo.fr。彼の新たな作品がVACANTにて展示される。題はその名も『Everything Has Beauty』。
今年3月にVACANT 2Fにて開催された作品展『TRASH WEEKEND』で見られた、複数の写真イメージの重ね合わせによる幻影的な作品同様、本展では二重像(ダブルイメージ)というコンセプトを引き継ぎながら、墨と朱墨のドローイングというまた新たなメディアを用いており、大類独自の世界観(ムード)が広がる。
50×65cm の大判のデッサンペーパーに軽妙な筆致で描かれた、官能的でどこかアンニュイな女性のヌードに、植物や指輪、はたまたどこかで見覚えのあるキャラクターがオーバーレイし、妖艶ながらユーモラス、さながら立体作品のような奥行きを持ったドローイング作品12点が並ぶ。

This exhibition presented at Vacant brings together the latest drawings by Paris-based artist makoto orui/mo.fr.
In this exhibit, the artist uses a double-exposure technique similar to the works he displayed in TRASH WEEKEND, the previous exhibit he presented at our venue in March, 2015. As in his earlier works, the superposition of multiple photographic exposures into a single image produces a surreal effect, while the addition of new techniques including sumi (Chinese ink) and vermilion ink drawings serves to express his unique worldview. The exhibit will feature 12 drawings on large, 50x65cm sketch paper, that overlay plants, jewelry, and seemingly familiar characters onto sensual and languorous sketches of nude women depicted with subtle brush strokes to produce a bewitching and humorous overall effect, as well as the three-dimensionality worthy of a sculpture.

While beauty encompasses a myriad of objects, each brush stroke in this exhibit elicits the particular kind of beauty that Orui has sought consistently throughout his career.
